Welcome to my Family History and Genealogy site. My mother, Lucille Flanery Gregory took up genealogy research, combining information and research from other family members in the early 1990's. After her death in 1995 I decided to continue her research and got bit by the "genealogy bug" and have continued to this day to research our family lines. More  people than I could name here have also helped greatly in putting this family history to this site.

Gregory Family:

These Families descended from John Gregory of Missouri in the mid 1800's.
Gregory family history - These generations of Gregory's lived in Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, California, Colorado and Ohio.
John Gregory was born in Virginia but witnessed the early history of the state of Missouri where he built a farm and raised a family.
Most of the families listed here are descended from his son Alexander, although research is still in progress on the other children of John and Frances as well as Alexander.

  Flanery, Flannery or O'Flannery Family

These Families descended from Dan O'Flannery of Tipperary County Ireland. This family belonged to the Munster Clan.
This family history site is of Daniel Flannery's descendants who came to America to escape the potato famine in the mid 1800's.
The earliest record found so far of their children in America is of son Daniel's marriage in Plainville, Ohio in 1856. Later records show them in Wisconsin and Missouri.

B_tree.gif (236 bytes) Richison Family descended from George Washington Richison 1822-1905 (Click here for Photos)
George Washington Richison was born in 1822. Most sources have him born in North Carolina or Kentucky. He probably grew up in the Appalachian Mountain area between North Carolina and Kentucky.
George and Sarah Marade Barrow raised 10 children.  They lived in Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, the Indian Territory and Oklahoma and died after the turn of the century.   George traded goods with the Choctaw Indians and was known to have been in their villages and knew of some of their tribal ways and healing medicines.

Search Engine Tips for Genealogy

Google is not always a good search engine for genealogy anymore unless you're looking for information on places or well known subjects.
Google now relies heavily on "Page Rank" for its search results, which is a rating of how many other sites link to a page.
A page with 10 or more other sites linked to it would come up high on your search results but a page that has no other pages linked to it may not come up at all as google will completely ignore it. This page might have your ancestor or individual you are searching on it.
If you're looking for individual names or places that no longer exist, try Yahoo or Live.com for your  genealogy searching, as they index content first, not who else is linking to it.
Never rely on only one search engine though for your research.
